Fleur

Whaddaya think? I'm going to alter the edging from the beading option to a sort of cable option. I'm going to knit one long cable starting at one side of the opening and going aaaaaallll the way around to the other side. Then a neckline and 2 cuffs. I think I'll go for the larger cable swatch.

Game on.

I would try a wider cable, not in stitch number or maybe but one with more crosses in it. Kind of a celtic one. That will lay flatter and be a lot easier to handle on the edge. Else it will curl onto itself.

When you say more crosses, do you mean a "tighter" cable, or do you mean there should be more "strands" to the cable (i.e., maybe a braid or plait, etc.)?

Actually, it is VERY short in the back, although I got gauge and I actually have enough length in the arms. I'm going to have to make the edging wider as it approaches the bottom and back. So I was trying to keep it simple as far as the edging goes, so I could add increases without a lot of angst.
I still haven't totall ruled out a ribbing (have you seen the maize shrug on Elann?). Any suggestions??

By more crosses I mean a cable like this:

or something of that sort.
No I have not seen the shrug and I did not find it.
